The Yamaha CruxS is a sequel of
the Yamaha CruxR which in turn was a successor of
the Crux, Yamaha's original entry-level bike. The
CruxS sports the typical bland look of economy segment
bikes including the fairing-free front side. New
decals and stylish graphics have been added to male
it more appealing.
The CruxS carry forward the previous Crux's four-stroke,
air-cooled, 106cc, single cylinder engine that generates
a peak power of 7.3 PS at 7,500 rpm and peak torque
of 7.85 Nm at 6,000 rpm. However, a new air induction
system has been added to increase air intake for
better burn and cleaner exhausts.
On the braking front, 130 mm drums do duty in both
the wheels and the suspension set-up includes oil
dampened telescopic fork and coil springs in the
front and swing arms and coil springs at the rear.
The four-speed gearbox, Yamaha's major strength,
provides excellent feedback and vibration is virtually
non-existent.
