All-new Honda City is launched in the country today at a starting price of Rs. 10.89 lakh. The test drive units have already reached the dealerships, and the exercise is likely to start by today itself.

Honda Cars India has launched the 5th-gen City in the country today at the starting price of Rs.10.89 lakh. It may be noted here that the launch of the latest-gen City was earlier scheduled to take place around the advent of the current fiscal but the ongoing crisis has led to several delays in the introduction of the new vehicle. It's also worth noting here that the carmaker will sell the new model alongside the 4th-gen car. 4th-gen City price. In comparison to the prices of the 4th-gen model, the base-spec V trim of the all-new City is priced at an increment of Rs. 24,000 only.

As we earlier revealed, the V and VX trim of the all-new Honda City get projector headlamps, whereas the top-spec ZX trim comes with full-LED headlamps. Also, the base-spec V model is decently loaded with features like 15-inch alloy wheels, 4 airbags, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Alexa Remote compatibility, electronic stability control, traction control, Phil start assist, cruise control, push-button start, climate control and more. The test drive models of the 5th-gen Honda City have also started reaching the dealerships. Thus, we can expect the test drives to begin by today itself.

All-New Honda City Launched

The 5th-gen City continues to sit on the same platform as the outgoing model, but it has been elongated and stretched a bit, thereby leading to increased dimensions. The popular sedan is now 4,549 mm long, 1,748 mm wide, and 1,399 mm tall. With these dimensions in place, it becomes the longest and widest car in its segment, even bigger than the very spacious Maruti Ciaz. However, at 2,650 mm, the wheelbase continues to be the same as before.

Talking of the powertrain options, all-new Honda City is offered with a petrol and diesel power plant. The petrol motor is a 1.5L naturally aspirated i-VTEC engine that is designed to put out a peak power output of 121 PS against a max torque of 145 Nm. It will be available with 2 gearbox options – 6-speed MT and CVT. The diesel motor is the same 1.5L i-DTEC unit as before. It is designed to put out a rated power output of 100 PS and peak torque of 200 Nm, and it will only be available with a 6-speed MT. The outgoing model, however, will continue with the same 1.5L 119 PS petrol motor with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
