10,000 Sales/Month is Hyundai's Target for the New Santro

While the Renault Kwid has a monthly sale of 6000 units, the Tata Tiago is experiencing its best month with 9,200 units sold, which means that Hyundai’s target of 10,000 units sold/month for the new Santro will surpass both Renault Kwid and Tata Tiago. Actually, the sales target of 10,000 units/month is even far higher than the sales of its cheapest model, the Eon.  With this sales number, Hyundai Santro is targeted to contribute a large part to Hyundai’s already high total sales.

Though expected to be launched on October 23, the new Santro is revealed to appear in Indian auto market much earlier. Similar to other cars in the segment, the car is believed to have a tall-boy hatchback design and will have five seats. It will be packed with a five-speed AMT transmission along with a standard manual gearbox. Engine options include LPG-Petrol dual fuel and CNG-Petrol engines.

The new Hyundai Santro is expected to reach the sales number of 10,000 units/month

The new Santro is expected to be priced between Rs. 3-4 lakhs, directly competing K10 variants and the Maruti Alto 800.

A suffix will be added to the name Santro in order to remain the popularity of the badge and also distinguish among the multiple generations of the Santro at the same time. The official name of the new hatchback will be disclosed in its launch this October.

The new Santro’s launch might come as a good news to Indian car buyers. It will increase the competitiveness in the hatchback segment, which requires the carmakers to constantly update the features of their cars as well as making their price more reasonable in order to make their cars more attractive offers to buyers.
