2018 BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport launched at Rs 41.50 lakh

Recently, BMW has launched the fourth variant of the X1 in the Indian market, called BMW X1 sDrive20d M Sport, and priced it at Rs.41.50 lakh.

BMW India has recently added another variant of X1 which is the sDrive M Sports trim into the portfolio. The new BMW X1 sDrive20d M-Sport is available at the price of Rs 41.50 lakh, ex-showroom (India). The new trim slots below the top-spec X1 xDrive20d M Sport has priced at Rs 44.50 lakh. The entry-level SUV is now available in four trim levels in the country.

Regard of the exterior, the sDrive M Sport is far different from the sDrive Expedition and xLine trims. In particular, the M spec body kit features with an aggressive front bumpers and side skirts, body-coloured additional cladding on the wheel arches and rear bumpers with diffuser inserts covered with dark shadow metallic finish. The X-1 M-Sport will also get 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps and LED DRLs which are standard across all variants of the X1.

At the front, the kidney grille offers a high gloss black paint scheme. An M logo draws the attention on the front fender. This SUV would be available with three paint options which are Sapphire black, Estoril blue and Mineral white.

As for the interiors, the sDrive20d M Sport will share the same features with the xDrive20d M Sport such as 

  • Ambient lighting

  • Dual-zone climate control

  • Electrically adjustable front sports seats

  • Auto-dimming mirrors

  • Digital instrument cluster

  • Rear parking sensors with a camera 

  • 40:20:40 split seat

However, when it comes to the higher-spec, the sDrive M Sport doesn’t offer features like the 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment and heads-up. Alternatively, it gets the 6.6-inch unit with smartphone integration.

Under the hood, the 2.0-litre four-cylinder oil burner is the only engine option available in India. It can produce 190bhp and 400Nm. The eight-speed automatic transmission comes as standard.

The German carmaker expects that the addition of the M-Sport trim in the portfolio will boost the competitiveness of the SUV in the Indian market. The BMW X1 in India takes on rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLA, Audi Q3 and the Volvo XC40.
