2018 Ford Aspire launched at Rs 5.55 lakh

Ford India has officially launched the Aspire facelift just right before the festive season. The 2018 Ford Aspire facelift now is updated with a host of tweaks, both cosmetic, as well as mechanical. 

The introductory price in India starts at Rs 5.55 lakh for the base petrol Ambiente trim. As for the top-spec diesel Titanium+ variant, it goes up to Rs 8.14. The petrol-automatic combination is only offered in the Titanium trim which prices at Rs 8.49 lakh.

Accordingly, compared to the outgoing models, this new Aspire offers the lower price which is about Rs 20,000 as these models have priced between Rs 5.72 lakh to Rs 8.69 lakh for the petrol variants (including the automatic) and Rs 7.44 lakh to Rs 8.46 lakh for the diesel trims.

In terms of the exterior and interior, Aspire prevails from the Freestyle. It shares the design cues from the grille on the fascia to the 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Ford’s Sync 3.

Regard of the features, 2018 Aspire is available with more safety kit as standard such as 

• Rear parking sensors 

• ABS with EBD

• Two airbags

• Adjustable front and rear seat headrests 

• Reminder for the front seat belts

Additionally, in the automatic variant, Ford also equips for the Aspire some others as standard

• Hill-start assist

• ESP 

• Traction control

Meanwhile, the tops-spec trim is updated with an emergency assistance service and four more airbags.

Apart from the styling tweaks and feature additions, the new Aspire’s powertrain options are also updated by Ford. In particular, the new 96hp, 1.2-litre three-pot motor powertrain from the Freestyle has replaced the old 88hp, 1.2-litre, four-cylinder one.

• Honda Amaze (Rs 5.81 - 9.11 lakh)

• Maruti Suzuki’s Dzire (Rs 5.60 - 9.45 lakh)

• Hyundai Xcent (Rs 5.61 - 8.61 lakh)
