2019 Maruti Baleno Facelift to Launch In 10 Days

The facelifted version of Maruti Baleno is scheduled to launch within 10 days from now. Its pre-order began on January 22nd for an amount of INR 11,000

Mr C V Raman, the Senior Executive Director (Engineering), in an interview regarding the sidelines of the launch of the 2019 Maruti Wagon R, has stated the following about the launch of the 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift -

“Just yesterday, (on January 22) we started bookings of it (2019 Maruti Baleno). In a week or 10 days, you will be able to see it in the market.”

Since being first launched in October 2015, the compact SUV Maruti Baleno has been on sale for over three years, which means it is due for the mid-cycle action. The facelifted Maruti Baleno will be available with several cosmetic tweaks such as -

  • New bumper with a revised air dam 

  • New fog lamp enclosures

  • New chrome applique for the upper grille

  • Machined alloy wheels

  • Updated tail lamps

Maruti Baleno was first launched on October 2015

The 2019 Maruti Baleno facelift will be sold in the same grades as the current model, which are -

  • Sigma

  • Delta

  • Zeta 

  • Alpha

The base trim of the facelift will come with rear parking sensors as standard. Meanwhile, the Delta and Zeta trims will get LED projector headlamps. Notably, the Delta model even has a 2-DIN audio system with touch controls on offer.

As for the safety package, the new Baleno will come with two additional features, which are co-driver seat belt reminder and the speed-alert system across all the variants.

In terms of the specification, the facelift Maruti Baleno will also offer the same engine option with the outgoing model. There are 2 engine choices as

  • K12M 1.2-litre petrol (84.3 PS/ 115 Nm)

  • D13A 1.3-litre diesel (75.05 PS/ 190 Nm)

Both the engine units come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The CVT is offered optionally on the petrol engine.
