2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid Launch Date Revealed

The 8th-gen Toyota Camry is projected to hit the Indian dealers on January 18 with a hybrid powertrain option.

After a bunch of rumours and teasers from the manufacturers, the all-new Toyota Camry has been set to come to India in 2019. The official launch date has been confirmed to be on the 18th of January, 2019. The highly acclaimed entry-level luxury sedan will be the 4th generation model in the domestic market and the 8th-gen version in the global scale. The new Camry will continue to be offered with a hybrid powertrain system to compete with the likes of Skoda Superb and Honda Accord Hybrid as well as take on the smaller luxury sedan like Audi A3 or Mercedes-Benz CLA.

The much-awaited Toyota Camry Hybrid is scheduled to come on this January 18

First revealed in the global market in last November, the all-new Toyota Camry Hybrid gets a sleeker body style as compared to its previous generation. Based on the all-new Toyota New Global Architecture (GA-K) Platform and featured with the latest Toyota design language, the new Camry looks better with high-quality materials around the interior and exterior and packs with some features:

  • LED headlamps with LED DRLs

  • Sleeker taillights

  • Revived alloy wheels

  • V-shaped element upfront

  • Redesigned rear spoiler and shark-fin antenna

Engine-wise, the new Camry gets the power from a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 174 bhp of power and 221 NM of torque along with a 116 bhp electric motor as well. The total power output of the all-new Camry is 205 bhp.

The interior of the forthcoming Camry Hybrid will be massively updated with a get new larger touchscreen infotainment system, a fresh new heads-up display and segment-first reclining rear seats. The entry-level Toyota Camry is expected to get the price tag of Rs 40 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) due to 48% higher GTS regulated by the Government on the Hybrid vehicles in India.
