7-seater Maruti Vitara SUV To Launch Next Year

Expected to make its world premiere at the 2020 Auto Expo, the next-gen 7-seater Maruti Vitara SUV is likely to hit the Indian market in H2 2020 to penetrate in the premium SUV segment. The only Maruti SUV currently available in the Indian auto market is the C platform-based Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza which tops on the best-selling SUV list in the country.

Currently, the Hyundai Creta is achieving great success in the higher-than-Vitara-Brezza SUV segment with the monthly retailing figure of over 10,000 units. Maruti Suzuki aims the seven-seater SUV to be a fast runner in the competition of slightly premium segment. In order to undercut the fierce rival- Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki shifts its attention on the upmarket features, enlarged comfort zone to address a wider range of customers. The upcoming Vitara is slated to come with a 3rd-row seating, a very seductive revised styling design and innovative interior fitments which are considered the best Vitara’s culmination.

Last year, the mid-cycle facelift of the Maruti Vitara was also introduced to the Indian customers. The engine comes paired with a standard 5-step manual transmission and an option of 6-speed automatic gearbox. Although there is no official confirmation of the automotive giant about the arrival of the 7-seater Maruti Vitara SUV in the domestic market, the large SUV has a really high potentiality to come as the automaker now turns its eyes on the premium SUVs segment.
