All-new Hyundai Santro Will Have Under Four-month Waiting Period

Having crossed over 38k bookings within 40 days of its launch, the all-new Hyundai Santro will have a waiting period rising to 4 months according to the South Korean carmaker.

Unveiled in the Indian market on 23 October and launched about 14 days earlier from the Diwali, the 2018 Hyundai Santro makes great achievement in the sales booking units, make its way to enter the top 10 best-selling cars list in India. The waiting period for the Santro has been risen to about 4 months depending on the variants and colours due to the pressure to meet the production targets. As announced by the carmaker, Hyundai has decided to boost the production of the new Santro to 10,000 units in November to lessen the waiting time.

Being one of the most important launches of 2018, the Hyundai Santro has masterfully fulfilled the customers’ expectations. Due to the stunning exterior, the up-to-date interior features and great performance, the Santro strongly impresses the modern Indian buyers who’d love to buy a car with a sense of innovation and versatility. Accordingly, 38,500 bookings have been garnered for the hatchback since it is opened on October 10.

The Korean brand has disclosed that the AMT-equipped versions made up for 30% of the bookings, the CNG got 18% while the standard petrol-manual variants account for 52% of the bookings. The mid-spec variant as Era, Magna and Sportz achieved the major demands of the Santro’s variant line-up.

The 2018 Hyundai Santro has been equipped with the in-house designed AMT gearbox and built on the new K1 platform that is slated to underpin all the sub-4 metres vehicles of the South Korean brand in the future. Powered by a 1.1-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine generating 69 hp at 5500 rpm and 99 Nm at 4500 rpm.

Introduced at Rs 3.89 Lakh for the base trim, the 2018 Hyundai Santro is packed with a couple of segment-first features including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, AC vents, etc. Besides, the range-topping variants are available with front dual airbags.

These introductory pricing ranges will be revised for the Santro after it marked the first 50,000 bookings units as stated by Hyundai.
