To prepare for the next-year launch, Hyundai has been rigorously testing their new SUVs. Images of the new SUVs on their drive test have given us some clue about this all-new car.

Testing has been done to the new sub-4-meter SUV of Hyundai. Hyundai has revealed their vision for this new SUV back in 2016 at the Auto Expo in Delhi, in which they introduced the Carlino concept. And ever since, Hyundai SUV has been spotted being tested in the US.

However, we still have no clue what name this new SUV will get. Compared to the Carlino concept shown in 2016, the new SUVs seems to be similar in the way that both of them have the boxy design, which is much like a beloved car of Indians. However, there are still some notable differences. For example, this SUV will have a different grille. Unlike the hexagonal cascade grille, the new Hyundai SUVs’ grille is shaped as a rectangular. A turn indicator will be placed on the top of the headlamp. The wheel arches are large, and the same goes for the tyres.

It is revealed through the spot images that there will be vertical dual headlights on the front, and possibly, LED Day-running lights.

The general idea is that the new car will be lighter, which is hoped to improve the performance with more dynamics and higher ground clearance.

Until now, there is nothing to be told about the interior of the new SUVs, even with the spy images. However, we do expect that there will be a touchscreen infotainment as well as rear AC vents, push-button start, climate control, steering wheel with multifunction. Airbags, ABS system, and hill assist are expected to appear on the feature list of the new SUVs. Hopefully, the new car will be as feature-loaded as the Creta or the Grand i10.

About the engine, the best that we could predict is that it will offer a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine which has already served the i20. This engine could make 118 PS of power and 171 Nm of torque. The other diesel engine might be a 1.4-liter U2 CRDi whose specifications are 89 PS and 220 Nm.

As we expect, this SUV will make its debut in 2019 in the international market. And the US will be the first country to have a taste of this new car. For the Indian market, it is hoped that Hyundai will do the test with this car soon.

The new SUV is among the six new cars that will be introduced by 2020 according to Hyundai’s plan on the Indian market.
