India-bound Hyundai Nexo Scores Max Points in Euro NCAP Test

The first ever Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV) of Hyundai, the Nexo achieved a 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP safety test.

The prospect of electric mobility to dominate the automobile industry is more likely to come when the 2018 Hyundai Nexo gets 5 stars rating on the Euro NCAP crash test that reflects how well the vehicle performed in certain situations. Hyundai Nexo made its first public debut in the India Korea Business Summit in 2018 Feb. The Nexo showed the best performance in the Euro NCAP test with an overall 94 per cent rating for adult occupant protection, marking the first winning for a hydrogen fuel vehicle in the European New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP)

Built on an all-new platform, the Hyundai Nexo ahead of launch has promised to offer more spacious cabin layout, better driving performance along with a lot of advanced safety features. Then, the truth has been proved and the Hyundai Nexo is actually a big competitor in the race. According to the Euro NCAP test result, the 2018 Hyundai Nexo achieved commendable marks for both adult, child and pedestrian protection. The fabulous model attained fantastically 94% in the adult safety section, 87% for the child and 80% for pedestrian as well.

“We’ve fitted Nexo with intelligent safety features, designed to keep you aware of everything going on around you- and alert you of hazards you haven’t yet seen."

Hyundai Nexo is also strengthened by a great number of the most state of the art safety system such as:

1. Forward Collision –avoidance assist (FCA)

It is a kind of comprehensive monitoring front radar and front view camera signals that warn the driver the risky forward collisions or pedestrians as well.

2. Lane keeping assist (LKA/LFA)

It assists to track the front view lanes and the roads’ edges in order to prevent unexpected lane departure by reminding diver along with automatically steering the car back into position.

3. Rear cross-traffic collision avoidance assist (RCCA)

It is the rear radar in the back of the car functioned to prevent collisions when the vehicle is backing out from 90-degree parking space, it can activate the brakes if necessary.

4. Blind spot collision avoidance assist (BCA)

It helps alert the drive about other vehicles in the rear of the car or in the blind spots. It avoids collisions by applying brakes in lane departures.
