Kia Motors to Launch Vehicles in India in 2019

Kia Motors, the South Korean company, which has 14 factories, and has global sales of over $45 billion,claimed to roll out its first vehicle for sale in India in 2019.

According to Manohar Bhat, Kia Motors India's marketing and sales head, the automaker is setting up its first manufacturing facility in Anantpur, Andhra Pradesh, which will become operational and begin production in mid of 2019. 

In April 2017, Kia Motors has signed to build the first manufacturing facility in Anantapur. The manufacturing facility is expected to begin production in the second half of 2019 and produce approximately 300,000 units a year. The Kia management outlined its plans to set up skill training centres which would help them in their manufacturing process.

Kia Motors is the 75-year-old company and the eighth largest automotive company. Its sales unit closes to 3 million of the car rolling out per year. Kia Motors now is long to cover the entire global presence with the India factory. It is already present with plants in the US, China, Europe and Mexico. 

Manohar Bhat has responded to the media that the work on its first manufacturing unit was going on in full swing to reach its capacity goal which is approximately 3 lakh units per year.

The first vehicle of the company in India will be in the SUV category. In 2019, some other models such as Sportage, SP Concept, Rio, Stinger, Stonic, Soul are expected to launch soon in India.
