Tata Harrier H5X will be launched in early 2019. And the image of the production-spec Harrier has been leaked ahead of its official debut.

It seems that there isn’t a single day pass without a new update about the new Tata Harrier. Tata Motors does a pretty good job in keeping their upcoming car well on the spotlight. After various information of Harrier’s platforms, engines as well as test video and spy pictures, now we have the leaked image which reveals the production-spec version of Tata Harrier.

Tata Harrier has been caught on their test so many time but all in full disguise. But it is the first time that we could see the Harrier without camouflage. It is believed that the leaked images are of the production version of the Harrier. On the leaked picture, we can get a glimpse of the side and the rear of the car. The front profile still remains unknown.

Prodution-spec Tata Harrier

Production-spec Tata Harrier looks just like the H5X Concept

Here are some takeaway from the leaked images about Tata’s upcoming SUV, the Harrier:

  • Flared wheel arches: Apparently, Tata Harrier will have flared wheel arches. It doesn’t seem to have an impressive look but a simple five-spoke alloy wheelset. The cut of the alloy of the production version is different than that seen in the H5X Concept. The concept car has a flower-like cut which is too mild for the SUV. And the size of the wheel is not of the large side. In fact, it looks quite small for an SUV like Harrier. A

  • High-raised bonnet: the front of the Harrier is set quite high, creating a tall-stance look for the front. It will enhance the outright road presence of the SUV.

  • Swooping shoulder line: On the side of the car, there is a swooping line that spreads toward the tail lamps. This element is newly added, which is not seen in the concept car. Together with the floating roof, the shoulder line creates the floating effect and a sleek appearance.

  • B-pillar gets blacked-out treatment while the C-pillar is shaped as a triangular quarter glass.

  • The side will not have body cladding as in the concept look.

  • At the rear, the Harrier even looks more aggressive with the sleek and thin tail lamps. It also features a silver faux skid plate. We can also catch the sign of the rear spoiler protruding on the top of the windshield. The boxy fog lamp housing intrudes the side profile.

Tata H5X front look at autoshow

The front of the mass-produced Tata Harrier is expected to look like the H5X's front

According to the picture, the Harrier will look basically like the H5X concept introduced at the 2018 Auto Expo. So we could expect that the front of the car will keep the same design of the H5X on the front. For example, Tata Harrier is likely to get the front rugged teeth-shaped bumper and a thin grille with Tata badge on the front. It is still in doubt that Tata will bring the headlight unit from the concept car to the Harrier as this futuristic unit looks quite adventurous, exotic for a mass-produced SUV.

Besides the leaked look, we have also heard some clues about what is hiding under the hood. As far as we know, Tata Harrier will borrow the platform of the Land Rover. Besides, it will be powered by a 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine that is expected to make about 140PS. It is likely to come with both manual and automatic gearbox, as the spy image reveals the diesel automatic Harrier being on their test drive.
