Mahindra has displayed its two products, the Roxor SUV and the Marazzo MPV, at the Detroit Motor Show which is taking place at the Cobo Center in Detroit from January 14 - 27, 2019.

The Mahindra Marrazzo is the first product of the cooperation between Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) in Troy, USA, and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, India. Moreover, the MPV is believed to take the inspiration from a shark and is designed by Pininfarina, a well-known design house in Italy and a design centre of Mahindra in Mumbai. It gets an aggressive appearance with a front vertically slatted front grille which reminds us of the shark’s teeth, taillights that look like shark fins, 17-inch alloy wheels and front bumper with twin barrel and air dams.

However, the Indian auto manufacturer has no intention of launching the Marazzo in India since it already has the Roxor SUV on sale. The Mahindra Roxow borrows the platform from the Thar and is exclusively sold in the US auto market for off-road travelling. The Roxor comes with a robust appearance with strong suspension and a high ground clearance which add to its off-road abilities. Roof, door and windshield are absent, providing the driver with a clearer view. Under the hood of the Roxor is a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel motor which is good for 62 PS against 195 Nm. The power is sent to the four wheels through a 5-speed MT unit. This SUV has been demanded to be launched in India, but due to the dominance of Thar in this segment, it is unlikely to happen.
