Mahindra Registers A 14% Sales Growth In October

Mahindra sold 58,416 vehicles in October 2018, witnessing an increase by 14% from over 51,160 vehicles sold in the same month last year.

The domestic sales of the car maker were around 55,350 vehicles in October this year, increasing by about 6500 units, equivalent to 13%, from that in October 2017. Exports in October 2018 stood at 3066 vehicles, rising by 33%, as opposed to more than 2300 units in the same period last month.

The Mahindra Marazzo played an important role in the sales increase of Mahindra in October

Mahindra’s passenger vehicles’ which consist of vans, cars, electric vehicles and utility vehicles witnessed a steady growth in total sales by 3%, from 23,453 vehicles sold in October 2017 to 24,066 units in the same month this year. Moreover, 24,353 vehicles in the commercial vehicle segment were sold in October this year, growing by 26%.

Besides the Marazzo, the Maha Bolero Pik-up is also an important product of Mahindra

Commenting on the sales growth last month, the Mahindra - President, Automotive Sector, Rajan Wadhera associated the rise with the successful Mahindra Marazzo and Maha Bolero Pik-up. He stated,

"For past few months, the automotive industry has been witnessing subdued retail sales for passenger vehicles segment, because of low consumer buying sentiment. Therefore, one has to remain cautious on how the festive season, ultimately, turns out to be. However, at Mahindra we are happy with the response to our Marazzo as well as the uptake for our commercial vehicle portfolio, driven by the newly launched Maha Bolero Pik-up (with 1700 kg payload) in October".
