Mahindra XUV300 Vs Hyundai Creta Features

Exterior features

Once the Mahindra XUV300 is launched in India, it is expected to remind you a lot of the Hyundai Creta as regards to the exterior design. This might be because the television commercial of the new XUV300 shows an orange shade which is similar to that of the Hyundai Creta. The other similarities between these two cars include blacked-out A-pillars and a thick C-pillar.

However, the XUV300 has its own distinctive elements with many design features taking the inspiration from Cheetah, like the aggressive rear haunches and the bold creases. The rear end bears much resemblance to the concept model of the Suzuki IV4, but looks more appealing. The Hyundai Creta, which has recently received a facelift, comes with the typical cascading grille of the company, which makes the SUV much more muscular.

Here, it is really difficult to pick out the winner. Appearance is a matter of personal interest and the choice between the two vehicles is totally yours. However, the XUV300 will look fresher and seems to be the winner in the comparison between the two vehicles.

The Mahindra XUV300 is going to be available with both turbocharged petrol and diesel motor, which will make sure that both of the two versions will deliver a high power output. Despite having a smaller petrol motor than the Hyundai Creta, the 1.2L petrol engine of the XUV300 will effectively compete against the 1.6L petrol unit of its rival with 128 bhp of max power and 160 Nm of peak torque. The 1.5L diesel engine of the Mahindra XUV300 will also be equal with the 1.6L diesel unit of the Hyundai Creta and much more powerful than the 1.4L diesel unit of its rival.

Hyundai Creta has an advantage over its rival in terms of the transmission duties as besides the standard MT gearbox for the base variants, it offers a 6-speed AT unit on both of the 1.6L petrol and 1.6L diesel top-spec variants. On the other hand, the XUV300 is available with a 6-speed MT/AMT gearbox on the petrol variants and a 6-speed MT unit on the diesel variants.

Here, although less advantageous than the Hyundai Creta with respect to the transmission options, we would like to give the Mahindra XUV300 a thumb up with its more powerful engine.
