Mahindra's second Off-Road Training Academy launched in Mangalore

Mahindra has recently launched the second off-road training academy in Mangalore offering a state-of-the-art equipment and with the scale of 150 acres.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), a part of the USD 20.7 billion Mahindra Group has currently opened the second off-road training academy in Mangalore, Karnataka, under the Mahindra Adventure brand. Situated in the Western Ghats, the new training academy offers a scale up to over 150 acres. Apart from the large spreading, the academy will be replete with the modern facilities as well as a host of equipment to bring about enthusiasts off-roading experience with professional drivers.

Commenting about the inauguration of the Second Off-Road Training Academy, Mr Bijoy Kumar Y, the Chief of Adventure Initiatives, M&M Ltd has stated to the media

“We are delighted to inaugurate the second Mahindra Adventure Off-Road Training Academy, after a successful run of the first such organized off-road academy in Igatpuri for five years. We are geared up to share the spirit of adventure with off-roading enthusiasts in this part of the country. Today, this community is growing at a steady pace. We hope that our off-road training academies will allow adventure enthusiasts to hone their skills as well as test the tough and rugged capability of Mahindra vehicles.”

The 150 acres academy will be available with a wide range of off-road obstacles aiming at providing the skills for different kinds of situations. The Academy will be available in two courses which are the basic and the intermediate level. Meanwhile, the advanced course, named Global Explorer will be held at the off-road academy headquarters in Igatpuri. The two courses offered at the new academy includes

  • Getting Dirty (the basic level) 

  • Trail Survivor (the intermediate level)

The facilities offered aims at providing the skills for different kinds of situations

In particular, the course ‘Getting Dirty’ is dedicated for the rookie off-road enthusiasts. This course will allow the participants to enjoy 4x4 driving in a controlled and safe environment. It is a course which is below the Getting Dirty course. Although the tasks from Getting Dirty are also involved in Trail Survivor, the theory of Dirty course is more technical which requires the dynamics and driving techniques from the drivers. The obstacles are also tougher, along with the added off-roading challenge at night.

These courses will be held on weekends, in which basic course will start on Saturday morning and ending post-lunch, while the Trail Survivor course will be on Saturday afternoon and conclude on Sunday.
