A Gujarati Business proved the prevalence of humanity by dismantling his Mercedes car to rescue a kitten hidden in the vehicle.

Jayesh Tailor, who is currently a leading fish exporter in Surat, was travelling to the Siddhi Vinayak temple with his family on Thursday when they felt something amiss in the car. Their dog, Bruno was the first one to discover the cat so as they rolled down the windows, they heard the cat’s meows.

As soon as they heard the intensity of the kitten’s meows, Tailor decided to stop the car and stepped out to check where the cat was stuck. The cat was not found under the car but near the engine so it’s hard to rescue it by themselves. Tailor then chose to cancel his trip and called the police for help to save the cat.

However, police failed to do anything to rescue the kitten because they could not spot it. Even with the help of locals in the area, nothing could be done to rescue the poor animal. Tailor ultimately decided to take the car to a Mercedes-Benz service centre in Kalina for help.

The cat was hidden so hard that no one at the service centre could fully see it. The cat was so scared that it kept silent when they tried to knock the car, which made it more difficult to figure out a way. Surprisingly, the businessman asked the mechanics to disassemble the Mercedes to detect the cat’s location and save the poor animal. The rescue process lasted 6 hours and the kitten which mistook the engine bay of the car for a comfortable zone for sleep was finally saved and adopted by an employee of the workshop - another animal lover.

Commenting about the kind-hearted action, Tailor said that:

“I am sure we will be able to visit the temple the next time we are in Mumbai. We are so happy that the kitten didn’t suffer even a scratch. We love animals- apart from Bruno, we have another dog, Boojo, and a cat, Maxi.”
