Maruti Suzuki has not only kept the first position in the automotive car brands in India but also has the highest sales of automatic cars in the country.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., one of the most prestigious car brands, has witnessed an increase in sales of automotive cars each month and has also maintained the leading position in Indian automatic car segment. Penetrating into this teeming segment with the launch of the Maruti Celerio AMT in 2014, the company has informed that the number of automatic vehicles sold has been 10% higher than that of such traditional automatic cars as Maruti Baleno and Ciaz.

Maruti is now trying to achieve the target of around 6.6 lakh vehicles this fiscal, a growth of around 300% in AMT car sales. AMT called Auto Gear Shift (AGS), which was first introduced to India through the Maruti  Cekerio, is now also offered on car models including Ignis, WagonR, DZire, Swift, Alto K10, Brezza. Thanks to this AMT’s smooth gear shift, effective driving experience and fuel effectiveness, it has been warmly welcomed in India.

The new Hyundai Santro is also expected to be the first car with AMT of the company to be launched in India auto market. Hyundai also has also witnessed a considerable rise in the demand for automatic cars, which is anticipated to continue to increase with the launch of AMT.
