Maruti dealers have recently announced to offer Ertiga CNG Conversion Kits. The all-new 2018 Maruti Ertiga was officially launched at the introductory price of Rs 7.44 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi) with a host of features and refreshed styling.

India's largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, has launched the second-generation of Ertiga MPV in Indian market late last month with only petrol and diesel option on offer. However, recently, the dealerships have announced to deliver additional petrol variants offered with a sequential CNG kit as a part of the accessories package for the new Ertiga. As a result, the CNG kit offered as an accessory is a dealer-level offering.

In terms of dimension, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga is rather bigger than its predecessor. Ertiga acts as a cheaper alternative for Toyota Innova Crysta and the recently-launched Mahindra Marazzo. As CNG is cheaper than petrol, it becomes a better economic choice over petrol.

As per report released recently, the CNG kit will be offered with a 14-kilogramme capacity. There will be the extra cost for the system which includes insurance and RTO charges. The extra cost is claimed to be Rs 65,000. The dealerships will also provide a one-year warranty for the CNG kit.

As for the performance, the Maruti Suzuki Eritga is currently being offered with 2 options including 1.5-litre petrol engine 1.3-litre diesel. The specification details for the CNG version have not been revealed yet. The mild-hybrid petrol engine is stated to be similar to the new Maruti Ciaz which can produce 105bhp and 138Nm of torque. This is mated to a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The diesel engine can put out 90bhp and 200Nm of torque. It comes mated only to a five-speed manual for now, but an AMT version might follow soon.
