Honda sold a record 10,180 units of the Amaze in July 2018.

Recently, Honda Cars India Ltd (HCIL) has launched the new-gen Honda Amaze which garnered a very favorable response from the market. In the month of May, the automaker sold 9,789 units of the Amaze, which recorded to be the highest-ever monthly sales figure for any Honda car in India. After the record sales of 9k units in May and June 2018, Honda has retailed over 10K units of the new Amaze in July 2018.ư

Thus, the sedan drove the overall sales to more than 50%. The Amaze has got over 26,000 bookings and will continue to boost Honda sales.

The second-gen Honda Amaze has become the flagship for Honda Cars India. The new compact sedan has remained an upward trajectory for its monthly sales since its first launch in May 2018. The launch of the new Amaze has definitely given Honda a stepping stone. It results from the fact that in the April-July stage of this financial year, Honda grew 12.5 per cent in the domestic market, selling 62,579 units against 55,647 units in the same period, last year. Other than the Amaze, the City and WR-V are two other products adding a notable figure to the volumes.

The percentage growth over the sales in June and July would have Honda gearing up for their next launches – the Civic and the CR-V. Due for launch in 2018, the two premium cars will extend Honda’s market presence into the D-segment which is turning out to be a growing segment. The Honda City sales seem to be back on track after a slow month and the WR-V, and the Jazz has been selling steadily.

The second generation Amaze registers strong demand, helping the Japanese carmaker post a double-digit growth for the month of July.

In particular, the petrol-manual in the mid-spec S trim dominated the sales, in which, the two variants - the V and VX variants are performing the best. Only the S and V trims of the Amaze are offered with the option of a CVT, which is also one of the reasons why the S variant is in demand.

Honda had launched the Amaze in May this year with the price from Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
