Mahindra’s new SUV, XUV300 is currently on rigorous test in Italy. It has been spotted several times during its road test.

Recently, Mahindra teased the video of XUV300 on its wind tunnel test in Turin, Italia. Mahindra XUV300 has once again been caught on camera but this time during its road test in Italy. It is supposed that the new SUV is going under test done by engineers of Pininfarina, an Italian car design house that was acquired by Mahindra.

Mahindra XUV300 borrows the X100 platform from SsangYong. In return, Mahindra has agreed to not sell the XUV300 in China and South Korea. Despite that the XUV300 is seen being on test in Italy, it is unlikely that it will go on sale in the European country. However, the South African market will be included on Mahindra XUV300’s map. The launch date in South African is set closely after the India debut on 15 February 2019.

Indian-spec Mahindra XUV300 is available with two engine options, which are a newly-developed 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol and 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel. The latter engine is shared with the Mahindra Marazzo. The standard transmission option is a 6-speed manual transmission. Another automatic transmission will come later after launch. Mahindra XUV300 will take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Styx, and Tata Nexon. An all-electric version of the XUV300 will arrive later, supposedly by mid-2020.
