Maruti Ciaz and Hyundai Verna compete with each other in the segment of premium sedans. Which one is the better car that brings their customers with more benefits? Let's find out

Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai are the two largest automakers in India. The Maruti has the upper hand when it comes to the sales numbers, in fact, it has always been the best-selling auto brand in India. However, it doesn’t mean that Hyundai will always fall behind when a fair comparison comes up. That’s why today we will give you the comparison of the two brand’s most well-known sedans - Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna.

Recently, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is given a facelift, which has prompted an impressive rise in sales. The new Ciaz 2018 comes with appealing styling and more goodies. And the best part is that the Ciaz manages to keep their price tag in line with the previous price range, which starts from 8.19 lakh and goes up to 10.97 lakh.  But it is still a tad costlier than the Verna which ranges from 7.9 to 13.03 lakh. Let’s compare their offers to find out which one is more money-worthy.

1. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna: Exterior

The recent facelift of the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has refreshed and given it a total make-over. To be exact, the Ciaz becomes more stylish and premium. On the fascia, it gets a redesigned grille along with a more premium light system of LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs as well as LED fog lights. There is also a new fog light housing with chrome touch and a new bumper. The LED element featured on the exterior is a nice touch which allows the Ciaz to shine through at night. The Ciaz is a glossy and smart-looking car.

Hyundai Verna, on the other hand, is more on the sporty side. On the front face, it has a low-set grille which makes a visual impression of a sports car with a low stance. This cascading grille which is every Hyundai-ish is coupled with two aggressive swept-back headlights, even exaggerating the sportiness of the car.

One thing that the two share is the LED application and chrome insert on the front face. The Verna has LED DLRs and a chrome-adorned fog light housing.

To the side, the Verna is equipped with a set of 16-inch alloy wheels which is bigger than the 15-inch wheels from the new Maruti Ciaz.

 2. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and Hyundai Verna Interior

2.1. Interior Design

Both of the Ciaz and Verna come with the dual tone interior theme. The Ciaz is premium with the faux wooden insert on the dashboard along with some silver paint and chrome touch. The dashboard design is effective with an uncluttered layout.

Unlike the stylish exterior, the interior of the Verna looks quite out-dated. The dashboard is busier than that from the Ciaz.

  • Cruise control

  • Engine start/stop button

  • A leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob
