Jeep is famous for making some of the most iconic and greatest off-roader in the world. And in the upcoming years, especially in 2019, the American automaker will launch some new models. Here is the list of soon-to-be-launch Jeep’s SUVs.

Jeep was born out of the battle and widely loved by the army force. The American-born car brand has enjoyed the warm welcome around the world with its unbeatable off-road capacity. In India, Jeep models have been introduced to the customers under license by the Mahindra & Mahindra since the 1960s. By that way, Indians have got familiar with many Jeep-like models and iBut not until 2016 that Jeep did enter the Indian market with the Wrangler and Grand Cherokee. Expanding their business in the Indian market is now within the brand’s future plan. And in the upcoming years, we will welcome a host of Jeep’s new models.

1. Sub-compact SUV Jeep

As far as we know, the segment of sub-compacts is highly competitive with more and more car brand to tap into. From Maruti with the segment-leading Hyundai Creta, the best-selling Brezza, Tata Motors with the Nexon to Renault with the Duster. Even the Jeep itself has already launched the Jeep Compass. It is confirmed that Jeep will further their journey on this segment with the upcoming sub-compact SUV. This new SUV will sit below the Compass with the price possibly ranging from 7 to 8 lakh, making it the mót affordable models in Jeep’s lineup. It is expected to arrive sometime in 2020.

It is expected that the compact Jeep is going to be powered by a petrol engine only, considering that the 1.3-litre Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel engine could not meet the new BSVI emission norms. Both manual and automatic gearbox are likely to be available on the new sub-four-meter SUV.

Moreover, the top-spec variants of the sub-compact SUV will be packed with a four-wheel-drive system while the lower trims will come with front-wheel drive only.

We can fully trust the Jeep in its ability to create a reliable off-roader SUV. Jeep’s new car will surely fire up the race of sub-compact SUV which has already a hot segment. At launch, it will compete with the Ford EcoSport and Maruti Brezza.

2. Jeep Compass Trailhawk

Jeep Compass Trailhawk is all set to be launched at the end of 2018. Some spy specs of the Trailhawk have been circulating around the internet for a while now. It was due to go on sale earlier this year, however, but because of the new BSVI emission norms, Jeep has delayed the launch date so that they could refine their engine to meet the norms.

The Trailhawk is the top-spec variant of the Jeep Compass, and it is promised to bring out many premium features. Most importantly, the Trailhawk is going to be offered with a diesel-automatic gearbox, which will surely appeal to more customers. This variant of the Compass is going to sport a 2-litre engine that is good for 170bhp of peak power and 350Nm of torque. This engine will come with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

Besides the changes under the hood, the Trailhawk is reworked to level up their off-roading competence. Some changes that are expected to improve its performance includes the increased ground clearance, a low-range 4WD system, along with a new “Rock” mode for the multi-mode driving setting. The highlight of the new Trailhawk must be the appearance of the 8.4-inch infotainment system which is brought from the Compass Limited Plus. Panoramic sunroof will also be featured on the new Trailhawk.

This premium SUV will lock horns with the likes of Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavor. Expect to see this Jeep SUV to get the price tag of around 25 lakh.

3. Jeep Wrangler

The new-generation Jeep Wrangler has been launched in the international market for a while. It is now the time for this SUV to enter the Indian market.

On this all-new Wrangler, a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that packed with the mild-hybrid technology will make its first appearance. Besides, the top-spec petrol variant offers a 3.6-litre V6 engine. On the diesel engine, the international version gets a 2.2-litre diesel engine. For the new generation, there is no manual gearbox available. What’s more, to boost the off-road capability, the Wrangler will be underpinned by a lighter platform.

Exterior wise, this time, the Wrangler will get the most radical updates that it has ever had. The new-gen Wrangler comes with redesigned bumper along with other minor changes on its body. LED headlamps and LED daytime running lamps are added. Interiorly, it is equipped with more creature comfort like dual-zone auto climate control, passive keyless entry, push-button start and 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the navigation function.

4. 7 seat SUV

Jeep Compass is a big hit for the American company; however, the Jeep only comes with a five-seater configuration. And to expand their productions range, Jeep is working on a new seven-seater SUV, besides the mentioned sub-compact SUV. This seven-seater SUV will sit above the Jeep Compass, possibly being priced around Rs. 25 lakh mark. While the sub-compact will take on the Brezza and Creta, this seven-seater will fare against cars of the higher segment like Toyota Fortuner. It will take about three more years for this car to be completed, and it might enter the market in 2022.
