100 New Tata Safari Units Delivered On First Day

The all-new Tata Safari was launched earlier at the introductory price of Rs 14.69 lakh. On the first day of delivery, 100 units of the Tata Safari were handed to the customers.

Tata Motors has kicked off 2021 with the launch of the much-anticipated Tata Safari in February 2021. The delivery of the Tata Safari was commenced across the nation recently. On the first day, it is reported that 100 units of the Safari were delivered in Delhi NCR. A majority of the bookings of the Tata Safari comes from the top-spec XZA+ variant.

Within the Delhi NCR area, Tata Motors has registered a year-to-date growth of 9 percent in the FY2021 in the passenger vehicle segment. It is estimated that the homegrown car manufacturer has sold 23,000 passenger vehicles on monthly basis from October 2020.  In the last year, Tata Motors has seen positive responses in the domestic market thanks to the growing popularity of its SUV vehicles. It is expected that with the launch of the Safari, Tata will be able to keep the momentum going and grow at an even faster pace.

At launch, Tata Safari is priced from Rs 14.69 lakh to Rs Rs 20.20 lakh. 2021 Tata Safari is on sale with up to seven variants, namely, XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ, XZ+ and Adventure Edition. The Safari Adventure Edition comes with a few cosmetic enhancements over the standard model, for example, blacked-out 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails and front grille. Moreover, it also receives the unique Brown-White colour scheme for the interior instead of the regular Black-white theme.

In terms of powertrains, the Tata Safari made use of a 2.0-litre Kyrotec turbo diesel engine that is used on the outgoing Harrier. This engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The power outputs are rated at 170bhp and 350Nm. Tata Safari sits on the Omega Arc platform that allows both 2WD and 4WD. However, the Safari is now available with a 2WD version only. It is possible that Tata Safari will introduce a 4x4 version at a later stage.
