Kia Carnival was launched on the event of Auto Expo 2020 at the starting price of Rs 24.95 lakh.

With the success of its first product, Kia has easily becomes the third largest automaker in India with a market share of 6.24 per cent, ranking behind the long-reigning Maruti and Hyundai. The launch of the Kia Seltos has created a considerable momentum for the South Korean car manufacturer. Following the Seltos, Kia Motors introduced its second model in the form of Kia Carnival. This premium MPV has been on sale at a starting price of Rs 24.95 lakh (ex-showroom).

11 Kia Carnival Delivered By Kia Dealer In Surat A Day

Shortly after launch, the MPV has received a positive response from the market. Recently, a dealer in Surat has posted a new record of sorts with the deliveries of 11 Kia Carnival in one day. Quick calculations show that even on accounting the base price of the vehicle, the dealer has managed to register a sale of more than Rs 2.5 crore through the 11 vehicles. In the first month of its launch, the sales of this MPV hit 1,620 units, which, in itself, is quite an achievement if you consider that the MPV is positioned in the premium end of the market. Kia Carnival comes in three variants, Premium, Prestige and Limousine. Besides, the MPV is also available in three different seating configurations including 7-, 8- and 9-seater layouts. Only three colour options are available, which are Aurora Black Pearl, Steel Silver and Glacier white Pearl.

Under the hood, the Kia Carnival receives power from a 2.2-litre cylinder diesel engine which delivers a top power of 197 PS and 440 Nm. It comes exclusively with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Being positioned as a premium offering, Kia Motors is provided with a load of features including dual sunroof, 10.1-inch dual touchscreen for the rear seats, one-touch sliding door, and smart power tailgate. Moreover, the Kia Carnival is also provided with a variety of smart connectivity features which are offered at no cost in the first three years after purchase.

At the moment, this premium MPV is a uniquely-positioned model in the market with no direct competitor. The closest rival to this car is the Toyota Innova Crysta, which offers lesser space, lesser features and even lesser seats. It can also come as an alternative for the luxury MPV like Mercedes Benz V Class and Toyota Vellfire.
