2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS To Go on Sales on November 16

The new CLS will be introduced in India soon with the 2.0-litre diesel engine seen on the C-Class facelift.

On November 16th, Mercedes-Benz will roll out the third generation of the CLS coupe. The second generation of the car was sold in the India years ago before it went into discontinuation.

First introduced at the 2017 LA Motor Show, 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS will get a totally overhaul cosmetically and mechanically. The India-spec version will be draw power from the 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine which has been powered the Thailand-bounded CLS. The CLS sold in Thailand has 245PS of power and 500Nm of torque on tap. This unit will come with the 9-speed automatic transmission. On the Thailand market, the CLS doesn’t come with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system of Mercedes. The international version of the CLS gets more powerful engines.

On the new CLS, Mercedes will present its latest design language characterized by the arrow-shaped DRLs on the headlight, along with the new bumper design. Besides, you will continue to see the coupe-ish features like frameless doors and the swooping roofline.

Stepping inside the CLS, you will see an impressive dual screen display. Wooden accent and touchpad add even more premiumness. The dashboard layout is similar to that of the S-Class.

Mercedes-Benz CLS will take on Audi A7 and BMW 6 series GT. The price range could even go beyond the Rs 1 crore mark. But surely, as it situates between the E-Class and the S-Class, the price of CLS will fall into the range between Rs 60 lakh and the S-Class, which starts at Rs 1.33.
