2019 Ford Figo Facelift Ambiente Price Hikes, Higher Range Is Now Cheaper

Ford Figo was given new mid-life updates last month. At the time of launch, it was priced at Rs. 5.15 lakh for the entry-level Ambiente petrol engine while the diesel counterpart was more costly at 5.95 lakh. One month after, the price hiked up by Rs 8,000 and Rs. 18,000 for each, respectively. It also means the current price of the Ford Figo will start at Rs. 5.23 lakh for the petrol and 6.13 lakh for the diesel version.

However, unexpectedly, the prices of higher grade, Titanium and Titanium Blue, on the contrary, are significantly lowered. Compared with the price at launch, the Titanium is now Rs 39,000 and Rs 29,000 cheaper for petrol and diesel variant respectively. And the top-spec Titanium Blu is decreased by Rs 29,000 (petrol) and Rs. 19,000 (diesel). For such a great mark-down, you can now buy the Titanium at Rs 6.65 and Rs. 7.55. The revision of price is meant to boost the sales of the top-spec grade while narrowing down the gap between the high-end and lower-end variants. Despite the current mid-life updates, the Figo doesn’t seem to have a breakthrough in terms of sales. Last month, Ford’s hatchback has registered the total sales of 691 units compared with the segment-leading Maruti Swift with over 14,000 units and the following Hyundai i10 with about 7,000 unit sold each month.

The facelift Ford Figo comes with style updates including dual tone colour, new bumper, new honeycomb front grille, new fog lights and chrome application along with new rear bumper and wrap-around tail lamps at the back. Interiorly, the Ford Figo features new 8-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. New piano black is added to the controls at the steering, the centre console unit and door handles.

Mechanically, the Figo carries forward the engine options available on the previous model, including a 96hp, 1.2-litre petrol and 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel and a 123hp, 1.5-litre petrol unit. The first two engines are mated with 5-speed manual gearbox while the 1.5-litre petrol motor comes with 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
