Ford Figo Facelift will arrive with a new appearance, inside and outside, along with essential changes underneath the bonnet
Ford is about to give one of its faster selling models, the Ford Figo, a mid-cycle facelift. In fact, the updated Figo is just around the corner. The Figo will be the third car in the line to receive the updates according to Ford’s new strategy for the Indian market, after the Ford Aspire and Freestyle. Figo will gain the necessary updates to make it relevant in the competitive world of entry-level hatchbacks. And it does seem that Ford has taken an adequate amount of time for Figo’s mid-life updates and the expected launch has been delayed until, possibly, April 2019.
Ford Figo 2019 will be given comprehensive updates, interiorly and exteriorly
Lately, in its second generation, the Ford Figo is showing sign of ageing. The hatchback used to be a fast-selling model in its class. However, as time goes by, the car is losing out its appeal toward the customers while the car industry is keeping fast moving forward. The time is ticking for Figo and it is in need for a throughout updates to refresh its status in the auto market.
Exterior wise, 2019 Figo will reduplicate some of the Freestyle’s design. For example, Ford will have the front grill replaced by a honeycomb unit. It also sports new bumpers, with revamped fog lamps and headlights. Other updates on the side and rear end include new alloy wheels, taillight units.
The Figo Facelift will be given the same 6.5-inch touchscreen seen on the Aspire and Freestyle
On the other hand, the interior is also given comprehensive updates. At the centre of Figo, it will get a new 6.5-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, the same unit equipped on other new vehicles from Ford like the Aspire, Freestyle and EcoSport. On the 2019 Figo, car occupants will sit on new seat upholstery. Now, the interior of the Figo will be made of more premium material. It also gets a load of new features. The standard pack is updated, now including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alarm along with others.
Under the hood, 2019 Ford Figo will run on a new 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine of the Dragon series, which previously appears on the new FreeStyle. The diesel trims continue to be powered by the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine. Manual and automatic version could be found on both variants.
