From the mechanical aspect, Hyundai Grand i10 will be thoroughly updated. The current platform will be revised and upgraded when passing to the next generation model. Most importantly, getting ready for the upcoming BSVI emission norms, the Grand i10 will get a cleaner version fo the 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine. This engine is currently able to generate 83 PS and 113.76 Nm. About the transmission option, Hyundai has dropped the 4-speed automatic transmission and replace it with a new 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The continuity of the diesel engine is still in question. Most of the manufacturers are saying goodbye to the diesel eninge especially with the entry-level model, citing that renovating diesel models to meet the BSVI requirements would lead to a price hike which is unlikely to capture a decent sales volume. Currently, Hyundai Grand i10 gets one diesel option which is the 1.2-litre U2 CRDi diesel that makes 75 PS and 190 Nm.

Hyundai Grand i10 will get a 5-speed AMT as a replacement for the 4-speed AT with the full model change. The new AMT option will be available alongside the ongoing 5-speed manual transmission.
