The waiting period of the 2019 Maruti Wagon R now stands at 2-3 months

As per latest report release, the local arms of Suzuki, Maruti Suzuki India has currently confirmed the waiting period of the all-new Wagon R standing from 2-3 months. 

Being launched almost two decades, Maruti Suzuki Wagon is scheduled to come back with an all-new design as well as features updated.

Regarding general design, the 2019 Wagon R doesn’t replicate the styling of the model launching on the international market. Instead, Maruti Suzuki Wagon R will opt with India-specific tweaks to both exterior and interior.

In terms of the dimension, the upcoming Wagon R bears no resemblance with the Maruti Ignis. In particular, the tallboy from Maruti stands 3,655 mm in length, 1,620 mm in width, and 1,675 mm in height. The wheelbase spans at 2,435 mm which is 35 mm higher than its predecessor.

The next gen of the Wagon R receives a host of updates

As for the exterior, the new-gen Wagon R will be available with a new front fascia. The tweaks made includes 

  • Bigger headlamps 

  • Newly design bumper 

  • Round shaped fog lamps

On the rear profile, the tail lamps are derived from the Ertiga design language. Thanks to Heartect architecture, which also underpins Swift, Dzire, Baleno, and Ignis, the new Wagon R will be lighter but still with bigger proportions.

The upcoming Wagon R will offer a tad of lighter appearance over its predecessor

The interior witnesses more premium updates compared to the outgoing model. The highlight features are 

  • Touchscreen infotainment system 

  • Apple CarPlay 

  • Android Auto connectivity

  • Multifunctional steering wheel 

  • Mounted controls 

Remarkably, the next generation Wagon R will see the presence of the 1.2-litre K series petrol engine. Being borrowed from the Swift, the engine can churn out 82 PS and 113 Nm of peak torque. It is available in middle and top-specs trims along with manual and AMT transmission options. The standard 1.0-litre petrol engines will continuously be sold in the lower variants.
