Range Rover Evoque has been spied on-road test in Bangalore ahead of its launch. Let’s find out the details of the India-spec Range Rover Evoque.

Land Rover has unwrapped the 2019 Range Rover Evoque for the first time in November 2018. And only months after, the new Range Rover is found coasting around in Bangalore in full disguise.

At its world premiere last year, the Range Rover appears to sport an innovative styling. It still remains the signature silhouette but strongly inspired by the Range Rover Velar, which makes it diverge from the previous design. On the 2019 version, the Range Rover Evoque is up for a new Matrix LED headlights and new grille design. Pop-out door handles are also borrowed from the Velar. Throughout its body, copper accent adds more tone to the design.

The interior sports a minimal design. The dashboard surface is ironed out of any distracting element, creating a simplistic and futuristic vibe. Also to connect its design with the world modern issue, Range Rover has made use of the recycled plastic on the leather upholstery.

Though it looks simple, Range Rover is stacked with a loaded of technologies, notably high-performance dual touch screen Touch Pro Duo system and 16-way electric adjustable seats and built-in air ionizer.

In terms of mechanical setting, the Range Rover Evoque gains an upgraded platform which is the Premium Transverse Architecture. With the new architecture, it could make more room for the interior despite keeping the same footprint of 4.37 meter. Besides, it also has an increase of 21mm on the wheelbase, freeing more space for the rear knee room. The boot space also gets a 10 percent enlargement, reaching the total space of 591-litres. With the rear seat folded, it could add up to 1,383 litres.

About the powertrain setting, the global 2019 Range Rover Evoque will go on sale with diesel and Ingenium petrol option. India-spec version is expected to remain the current 2.0-litre turbocharged and 2.0-litre diesel engine. The first engine makes 240bhp while the latter is good for 180bhp. A 9-speed automatic transmission will send power to the wheels. It continues to run on the all-wheel-drive system.

The new Range Rover Evoque is scheduled to launch in the second half of 2019. After launch, it will stack against Mercedes-Benz GLC and Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60. In India, the price is expected to range from Rs 52.06 to 69.53 lakh
