The updated BSVI-compliant Renault Duster will get a major tweak inside the cabin. The launch is expected to happen towards the year-end ir in early 2020.

In an effort to redefine its position in the small SUV segment, Renault Duster is all set to get a heavy makeover that will allegedly meet the upcoming pedestrian safety norms. Just a few days back, the updated Renault Duster was spotted with no camouflage, likely during its TVC shoot in the Zoji La Mountain Pass near Srinagar-Leh highway. Now, a new set of spy images have emerged online recently, revealing that the new Duster’s interior will get a major update and all.

The 2019 Renault Duster (facelift) has been spotted clearly inside out, giving us a bief idea of its interior packages.

According to some spy shots, the 2019 Renault Duster (facelift) will carry a fresh design on the inside, all the ways to lift the premium feel of the cabin to a higher level. The new steering wheel will feature faux brushed aluminium effect which is likely to make its way to the all-new Triber MPV as well. Quite interestingly, the buttons for cruise control are mounted on the Duster’s steering wheel while the volume and audio controls are still kitted out behind the steering unit, same as the current model.

The new Duster facelift will sport a new steering wheel along with some revised styling bits on the inside.

At first glance, the dashboard design of the SUV looks quite similar to that of the outgoing model but we can easily notice multiple changes at a closer angle. It receives the integration of colour coding, piano black, chrome and faux aluminium treatments in order to get a fresher look. The centre console, on the other hand, sports rectangular-shaped AC vents in place of the round units. The instrument cluster remains the same as the outgoing version while the infotainment system, albeit having a new interface, is still placed lower on the centre console that turns out the be a miss for the ergonomics enhancement. However, it is expected to get Android Auto, Apple CarPlay supports and some connected features as well. The new Duster’s exterior also gets some minor cosmetic revisions comprising new alloy wheels, faux skid plate on the tailgate among others.

The refreshed Duster might be launched in late 2019 or early 2020 and compete against the likes of Mahindra Scorpio and Hyundai Creta.

Planning to introduce the facelifted Duster within next months, Renault will update its 1.5-litre K9K diesel burner of the Duster to adhere to BSVI emission norms. However, this major upgrade will be done on the 110 HP Duster only that means that the 85 HP version will be discontinued soon. Transmission package might include a 6-speed MT and an AMT choice. Meanwhile, the Duster’s petrol motor which outputs 106 PS of max power and 142 Nm of peak torque will get an optional CVT gearbox too.

Once launched, the upcoming Duster (facelift) will see a fierce rivalry from the best-selling Hyundai Creta and the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio in the country.
