2019 Toyota Glanza to get powered by 1.2L DualJet Petrol With Smart Hybrid Tech

The all-new 2019 Toyota Glanza is expected to get powered by a 1.2L DualJet Petrol With Smart Hybrid Tech and 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine.

Toyota India is set to launch its premium hatchback named as Glanza on June 6, and the car has started reaching the showroom floors. The new Toyota car will rival against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo and also upcoming Tata Altroz. Toyota Glanza is the first product which comes out from the Toyota-Suzuki partnership. The deal is about electrification, hybridisation, joint production and development of new car along with car export and import on global as well as national scale. One can spot that Toyota Glanza is a rebadged version of Maruti Baleno.

The new Toyota car will rival against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz and Volkswagen Polo and also upcoming Tata Altroz.

The change you may spot in Toyota Glanza is the employment of thick horizontal slats on the front grille. The cabin of Toyota Glanza gets Toyota badged steering wheel. Moreover, the Toyota Glanza is only offered in two top-spec trims- G and V and, it will get three year/1 lakh km standard warranty as compared to the Baleno’s 2-year/40,000 km. Both the G and V variants will get powered by two petrol motors. The G variant can get a 1.2-litre DualJet SHVS petrol unit which churns out respective power and torque outputs of 89 bhp and 113 Nm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. On the other hand, it can also get a 1.2-litre VVT mill which develops 83 bhp of power and 115 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes adjoined to a five-speed MT or a CVT.

Toyota Glanza will get three year/1 lakh km standard warranty as compared to the Baleno’s 2-year/40,000 km.

Both the petrol engines are BS6 compliant and, the V variant is expected to get propelled by the 1.2-litre VVT petrol engine with manual and automatic gearbox options. Moreover, the G variant will come loaded with features like a  seven-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, reversing sensors, front seatbelt reminder, high-speed warning system, front fog lamps, rear defogger plus wiper, LED projector headlights, power adjustable and folding wing mirrors, 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, four-speaker audio and two tweeters, central locking system with keyless entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking camera, automatic LED headlamps with follow-me-home function push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, 60:40 split rear seats, rear armrest and ISOFIX child mounts. On the other hand, the V variant will offer leather-wrapped steering wheel, rear parking camera, automatic LED headlamps with follow-me-home function.
