Being a performance-spec version of the standard Puma, the 2020 Ford Puma ST will employ the Fiesta ST’s turbo-petrol engine option.

A short teaser video of the 2020 Ford Puma ST has been released on the social media, hinting at the imminent arrival of the performance-focused version of the standard crossover. With this video, Ford has confirmed that the new Puma ST will be unveiled to the world sometime in the coming months. For your reference, the Puma is a crossover that sits above the Ecosport in the company’s global lineup and shares the same platform with the Ford Fiesta hatchback sibling.

The teaser video previews a bit about the aggressive stance of the sportier five-seater Puma to the enthusiasts. The upcoming Puma ST will sport a host of styling and interior changes together with a performance-spec powertrain system. The extent to which the Puma ST sets itself apart from the standard car remains unclear but we are sure that it will sport a similar wheel design to that of the model it shares the powertrain with, the Fiesta ST.

The Puma ST will be a sportier, performance-spec version of the standard Puma in the international market.

As per the spy images of its test mule, the Puma ST will come with a revised front fascia with new smoked headlamps, redesigned air intakes, new splitter under the nose along with wheel arch extensions. A more prominent lower body kit has been spotted on the prototypes seen in Nurburgring as well. There will be stiffer suspensions and bigger disc brakes on the upcoming model that, in all likelihood, will offer a launch control and limited-slip differential selectable drive modes as optional fitments.

Ford Puma ST will share the same wheel design and powertrain options with the Fiest ST hatchback sibling.

That said, 2020 Ford Puma ST will be powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that outputs 200 HP and 290 Nm of peak torque, good enough to propel the performance-spec ST variant from 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.7 seconds. The top speed is rated at 232 kmph. The all-new Ford Puma ST will be a hot, performance-oriented crossover with affordable pricing.
