2020 Hyundai Creta is receiving roaring responses from the Indian customers despite the ongoing virus pandemic.

Launched just some days before the country went into complete lockdown, the 2020 Hyundai Creta is having an impressive performance in terms of sales despite the massive challenges that have marred the local auto industry. Recently, on the digital launch of the new Hyundai Tucson, the South Korean company announced that more than 45,000 bookings of the Creta have been registered ever since its launch in March. The demand for the all-new SUV is on the rise regardless of the ongoing epidemic.

In the months of May and June 2020, the 2020 Hyundai Creta has outnumbered all of its rivals to become the top-selling car of its segment. In fact, the second-gen Hyundai Creta has flown off the blocks even before it officially went on sale with the company claiming registration of more than 10,000 pre-bookings for the compact SUV. To further highlight the success story, Hyundai has also revealed that the Creta brand now has more than 4.85 lakh customers across the country.

Talking about the variants being booked, the company said that around 60 per cent of the Creta bookings came from the Hyundai’s BlueLink-equipped models. There are many reasons for the new Creta’s roaring success, one of which is the host of powertrains available under the bonnet of the SUV.

Interestingly, the 1.5-litre diesel variants for the Hyundai Creta are performing well by recording 56 per cent of the bookings received so far. Do note that the diesel cars have become more expensive in India and the current price of diesel is now at par or even higher than what petrol costs in some cases.

That said, it indicates that even after the country’s shift to stringent BS6 norms, the demand for diesel-powered Creta cars is very much present. Additionally, Hyundai also offers the SUV with a turbo-petrol engine mated to a DCT unit that appeals to the auto enthusiasts searching for a powerful automatic mid-size SUV. Another reason behind the Creta’s sales success is Hyundai’s Click-To-Buy digital retail platform. The company reports that the new Creta is the most-searched car on its online purchase platform.
