The 2020 Hyundai Creta will be launched on March 17 and will go on to rival Kia Seltos and MG Hector

With the production of the new-generation Creta in full swing at the company’s Sriperumbudur plant in Tamil Nadu, Hyundai had started accepting pre-bookings for the SUV ahead of its launch in India against a deposit of just Rs. 25,000. In just ten days, the South Korean carmaker has received more than 10,000 requests. Currently, only the display units of the new Creta have been dispatched to dealerships all over the country.

The biggest apparent difference between the upcoming model and the outgoing generation is in terms of design, both exterior and interior. The new-gen SUV will sport vertically-split LED headlamps and tail-lamps, new alloy wheels, and a new front-grille on the outside. Inside, the car will feature voice-controlled ‘smart’ panoramic sunroof, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ‘Blue Link’ smart car connectivity, touch-operated air purifier, and an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system.

The second engine is a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel motor that produces 115 PS and 250 Nm of max power and torque, respectively. It will also be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. The last motor is a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol mill that generates 140 PS and 242 Nm. It will only be offered with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
