The 2020 Hyundai Creta has become the top-selling compact SUV once again. It competes with the likes of Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks.
Hyundai Creta was introduced in the Indian market back in 2015, and the compact SUV was able to attract a lot of potential buyers. The SUV became the best-selling car in its segment and earned the title of ‘King of SUVs’. A few months back the automaker launched the second-gen Creta in our market. The all-new model looks more stylish and comes loaded with many additional features. The 2020 Hyundai Creta is known as ix25 in the other Asian markets. Since its launch, like the previous-gen Creta, the new model is also magnetizing a lot of buyers. The SUV has become the top-selling car in its segment once again. Last month, the Korean automaker managed to sell 7,204 units of the car, outselling its direct rival Kia Seltos that registered sales of 7,114 units. This also made the new Creta the largest-selling SUV in India.
The difference between both the models was marginal. The car manufacturer recorded a total sale of 21,320 units in the domestic market. Hyundai has also exported 5,500 units in the Middle East, Latin America and South Africa. The all-new Hyundai Creta, Verna and Venue are the three main contributors in the total sales of the automaker.
The new-gen Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are based on the same platform. Moreover, both the SUVs share a lot of commonalities like platform, components and powertrain options. The new-gen Creta comes loaded with features like a Bose sound system with 8 speakers, voice-enabled panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, Bluelink connectivity options and more.
The all-new Hyundai Creta is powered by three different powertrain option
The new SUV derives power from a range of engine options, including 1.5-litre petrol and diesel motors and a potent 1.4-litre turbo petrol powerplant. The petrol engine comes paired with a 6-speed MT or a CVT, while the diesel motor comes coupled to a 6-speed MT or a torque converter automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the turbo petrol mill comes mated to a 7-speed DCT. The 2020 Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
