2020 Hyundai Creta Tops Sales Chart in June, Beats Kia Seltos

Just like its predecessor, the new 2020 Hyundai Creta has become a super hit in the Indian SUV market in recent months.

Since Hyundai first introduced the Creta to the Indian enthusiasts, the all-new subcompact SUV has been a hit for the company for quite a long time. Titled as the “King of SUVs” in India, the Hyundai Creta had continuously gained on the top spot of the monthly sales chart for a couple of years until the arrival of its cousin, Kia Seltos.

As a direct answer to the Seltos, the second-gen 2020 Hyundai Creta was launched in our country in March this year, shortly before the countrywide lockdown commenced. And again, the new Creta quickly crafted a niche for itself and once again becomes the bestseller for the South Korean brand in the SUV segment.

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is setting the sales charts on fire in recent months. While it emerged as the best-selling SUV of India in May 2020, the new-gen car continued the heat in the month of June. Last month, Hyundai sold as many as 7,207 units of the Creta in the Indian market while Kia was hot on its trail with 7,114 units of the Seltos. Hyundai also revealed that 14,825 bookings have been reserved for the new Creta last month.

According to the company, a majority of the Hyundai Creta sales are occupied by the diesel models. Specifically, the diesel-powered Creta constituted 55 per cent of the total bookings that proves a roaring demand for Hyundai’s BS6-compliant diesel cars.

2020 Hyundai Creta gets a vast departure from the previous generation in terms of design. While the exterior of the Seltos is a bit polarizing among the Indian audience, the sales show us that it is warmly welcomed by many.

Other than that, the new-gen Creta also acquires a long list of advanced and connected features, 3 different powerful engine and gearbox options, not to mention the company’s excellent brand image and aftersales services. The major highlights on the new Creta include a massive 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Hyundai’s BlueLink with more than 50 connected features, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, voice commands, cooled ventilated front seats among others. Currently, the 2020 Hyundai Creta is priced at around Rs 9.99 – 17.2 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
