The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 is finally launched with a revised engine range as new transmission options.

The much-awaited third-gen Hyundai Grand i10, which is being called the Grand i10 Nios, is finally out on sale. The price range of the new-gen model starts from Rs 4.99 lakh for the entry-level trim and goes up to Rs 7.99 lakh for the top-spec variant. The new-gen Grand i10 is 3,805 mm long, 1,680 mm wide and 1,520 mm high, which means that its length and width have expanded by 40 mm and 20 mm, respectively, while the height remains unchanged. Notably, advanced high strength steel makes up 65 per cent of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios’ body construction.

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is available with two engine options, including one petrol and one diesel motor. The petrol range is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated Kappa four-cylinder petrol unit that makes 81 bhp and 114 Nm. This engine is Hyundai’s first engine to become BSVI ready. On the other hand, the diesel variants receive power from a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder diesel unit with a maximum power of 74 bhp and a peak torque of 190 Nm. However, unlike its petrol counterpart, this diesel motor is only BSIV-compliant. A BSVI version of the diesel engine will be added by April 2020.

Other newly added elements include a NIOS lettering at the tailgate, 15-inch machined alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna and tail lights with LED graphics. The new design will surely attract more customers from the millennial generation. The exterior revision of the Nios also reflects Hyundai’s new design language.
