2020 Hyundai i20 Receives Over 10,000 Bookings

Hyundai i20 was launched on November 5. The new-gen premium hatchback receives overwhelming initial responses with over 10,000 bookings.

2020 Hyundai i20 was launched two days ago in India. Before the model is officially on sale, Hyundai has opened the booking for the new-gen i20. It is recently confirmed that Hyundai has garnered over 10,000 bookings for the new sedan. Hyundai i20 is offered in four variants, Magna, Sportz, Asta, Asta (O).

Hyundai i20 comes with three engine options. Reports suggest that bookings for the turbocharged petrol variants have accounted for 20 % of the total bookings. From the high number of bookings, we can tell that the Hyundai will get a huge surge in sales thanks to the launch of the i20. The latest updates on the Hyundai i20 are considered the most comprehensive update that the hatchback has received since its first days in the market.

In terms of features, the new Hyundai i20 is given an upgraded interior with higher quality. 2020 Hyundai i20’s cabin layout is widely different from the pre-updated version. It looks sleeker with better and more features. One of the interior highlights is the new load of connectivity features provided by the Bluelink system, such as remote engine start/stop, remote lock/unlock and climate control, remote vehicle status and alert, as well as car location tracking and sharing.

2020 Hyundai i20 is available at the introductory price of Rs 6.79 lakh. 

Additionally, the Bluelink system also provides some safety and security features like Auto Crash notification, tyre pressure information, immobilization/ stolen vehicle tracking. Let’s not forget about the convenience and entertainment techs offered on the Hyundai i20’s cabin. There are a 10.25-inch infotainment system, Bose Premium 7-speaker audio system, in-built navigation system, live traffic and compass, and semi-digital instrument cluster. Safety kit includes six airbags, rear parking sensor, electronic stability control, and a few more.

Under the hood, the Hyundai i20 gets the same set of engines from the Venue with two petrol and one diesel. The 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol is powerful enough to put out 83 BHP power and 113 Nm torque and mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine can generate 120 Bhp power and 173 Nm torque. This engine comes with two choices of transmission, 6-speed iMT clutchless manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch option. The only diesel engine on the range is a 1.5-litre unit which belts out 100 hp power and 240 Nm torque. It is exclusively paired to a 6-speed manual transmission.
