2020 Hyundai i20 Spied Sans Camouflage During Road Test

The third-gen Hyundai i20 is going to feature an all-new exterior with many new features. These include full LED headlights, front underbody spoiler, shark fin antenna, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED taillights which are connected by a reflector strip which stretches along the width of the car and a faux rear diffuser. Outstanding interior features of the new i20 will consist of a 10.25-inch customizable fully digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a premium 8-speaker Bose audio system. The new-gen model will also come with Hyundai’s Bluelink system which offers numerous connected technologies.

The new-gen Hyundai i20 will be equipped with numerous upgraded features both in terms of the exterior and interior.

The new India-spec Hyundai i20 is expected to be offered in a range of engine and transmission variants. The least powerful of the lot will be a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol mill that will offer 83 PS and 114 Nm. Transmission options will include 5-speed and CVT. Also, the new model will be sold with a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine that will output 120 PS and 172 Nm. It will be available with two transmission options - 6-speed manual and 7-speed DCT automtic. The oil burner on offer will include a 1.5-litre unit that will offer 100 PS and 240 Nm. The motor will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. As you might have understood by now, these engines will come from the Hyundai Venue. 

The new i20 will be powered by three motor options.

The 2020 Hyundai i20 is anticipated to be launched in India in September this year. Once launched, this new hatchback is likely to be priced from INR 5.75 lakh to INR 6.00 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price range, this new B2-segment hatchback will compete with the Tata Altroz, Renault Clio, Volkswagen Polo and Maruti Baleno.
