Second-gen Hyundai i25x is bound to take off in August in the Chinese market. On the other hand, second-gen Hyundai Creta, India-spec i25x, is expected to deliver some major differences.

Earlier this year, Hyundai ix25 was premiered at Auto Shanghai 2019. It is expected that the production version of the car will go on sales in August in China. However, the exact date is not confirmed yet.

Previously, the first-gen ix25 was the China-spec Hyundai Creta. However, this is unlikely to be the case for the second generation. Apart from the Chinese market, the rest is going to feature a different design for the second-gen Hyundai Creta.

In line with the SUV design language of Hyundai, the second-gen ix25 receives a more prominent and larger grille along with a spit-up headlight setting. The fascia of the ix25 somehow resembles the flagship Palisade. The rear design of the ix25 shares barely anything in common with the current design of the Creta. In general, the ix25 looks more muscular and aggressively-styled, which is unlikely to be brought to the India-bound next-gen Hyundai Creta.

On the other hand, the second-gen Hyundai Creta shares more things in common with the Kia Seltos. Hyundai will also get the Blue Link system with a load of advanced connectivity features. Dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats, cruise control, sunroof are expected to make it to the next gen Creta as well.

Hyundai Creta is likely to come with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine and a 1.0-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine. While the first two engines are sourced from the facelift Hyundai Verna, the latter is used on the Hyundai Venue. It is likely that the 7-speed DCT option will be included in the transmission range. It is unlikely that India-spec second-gen Hyundai Creta will come with an all-wheel-drive system. Apparently, all the engine options will comply with the upcoming BSVI emission norms.

The next-gen Hyundai Creta is scheduled to launch in India in 2020. Ahead of its official launch, second-gen Creta is likely to debut at the Auto Expo 2020. With the addition of many new features, Hyundai Creta will become more expensive. By the time of launch, Hyundai Creta will be rivalling with the Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks.
