2020 Hyundai Verna has already started reaching the dealership floors before its official launch scheduled on 26th March 2020. Here we have two new detailed walkaround videos revealing outside and inside changes made on the Verna facelift. Both the videos are uploaded by two different YouTube channels, covering the base and top-end trim of the new C-segment sedan.
Hyundai will offer the Verna facelift in four different trim levels namely- S, S+, SX and SX (O).
The base S trim comes loaded with features like a Chrome radiator grille, electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering mounted controls, wheels caps, dual-tone cabin, front sliding centre armrest with storage and a touchscreen infotainment system. On the other hand, the top-end trims will feature LED headlights, LED taillamps, fog lamps, electronically adjustable wing mirrors, fully digital instrument console, 16-inch sporty looking alloy wheels, automatic climate control, six airbags, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Navigation Assist.
Mechanically, the 2020 Hyundai Verna will derive power from a 1.5-litre BS6 compliant petrol mill, which churns out 115 PS and 144 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the 1.5-litre, turbocharged diesel engine will produce power and torque outputs of 115 PS and 250 Nm. The petrol unit comes coupled to a 6-speed and CVT, while the oil-burner is paired with a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AT. A more powerful turbocharged petrol engine will also be on offer, which puts out 120 PS and 172 Nm. Transmission duties will be done by a 7-speed DCT. The Korean carmaker will announce the prices of the Verna facelift on 26th March 2020.
Once launched, the mid-size sedan will compete with the likes of Honda City, Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. The new model comes across as a substantial update over the outgoing version. Not only does it offer a more modern styling package than before, but even comes with more features, cleaner engines and, finally, a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
