2020 Mahindra Thar Accessories Package Revealed

One of the most anticipated launches of the year, 2020 Mahindra Thar, has finally arrived. The new Thar launched at the starting price of Rs 9.80 lakh. This car is offered in three trims, AX, AX (O) and LX. Upon its arrival, the new-gen Thar is now offered with two engines and various gearbox options. It also comes in different seating configurations and roof types.

About the exterior design, Mahindra has gone a long way in redesigning the exterior and interior of the new Thar. The 2020 version manages to keep the traditional appearance of the Mahindra Thar while adding some new and exciting bits to the mix. In addition, the new Mahindra Thar is also available with a wide range of accessory options that will upgrade not only the styling but also the functionality of the vehicle.

Mahindra Thar 2020 is offered with two accessories packages, Dark Lord and Chrome Hero. 

2020 Mahindra Dark Lord Package

This package will offer extensive use of black cladding, which makes the car look even more aggressive and rugged. Here are some accessories that are included in the Lord Package:

• Side and black shoulder appliques

• Piano black headlight appliques

• Front grille cladding

• Front bumper cladding

2020 Mahindra Thar Chrome Hero Package

As the name suggests, the Chrome Hero package features chrome-enhanced accessories that will add more shine to this offroader vehicle:

• Chrome taillight applique

• Side body cladding

• Chrome door handle applique

• Chrome headlamp applique

• Bug deflector

• Chrome front fog light applique

• Chrome front DRL applique

• Chrome door handle applique

Additionally, there are a couple of other exterior accessories for the Mahindra Thar, like side body decal, OE plastic side steps, 16- and 18-inch machined alloy wheels, front and rear mud flaps, body cover, and steel scuff plates.

On the insides, Mahindra provides some cosmetic adds-on, functional accessories as well as advanced technologies. Mahindra Thar owners can choose from very basic accessories like seat cover, floor mats, steering wheel cover, tailgate-mounted snack tray, and magnetic sunshades set to more expensive and upmarket accessories like some audio system-enhanced features. These include a touchscreen system, Vibe passive subwoofer, Vibe mono amplifier, and Vibe Components speaker, roof-mounted speaker set and 2DIN head unit mount kit. In addition, Mahindra also provides some park assist features like front parking sensor and a heads-up display.

Apart from all the accessories mentioned above, Mahindra also sells camera devices (GoPro cameras and accessories), vehicle recovery and maintenance tools, as well as camping accessories with apparel.

The two engines on offer include a 2.2-turbocharged diesel engine (132 BHP/ 300 Nm) and 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol (152 BHP/300 Nm). Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The four-wheel-drive system is offered as standard across the range.
