Mahindra Thar 2020 will get some exterior revisions

New Mahindra Thar sees a dimensional expansion. The growth in size allows the car to sport better interior space. The overall design of the Thar holds on to its signature design which has become so familiar with the audience over the course of its life. Some minor exterior updates are spotted. Mahindra Thar 2020 receives larger front grille with horizontal slats. To buff up the style of this off-road SUV, the front bumper will be revised to look more aggressive while the wheel flare arches are amplified to give more presence for the side profile. On the rear side, it seems that Thar is going to get larger taillights. Mahindra is likely to introduce the new Thar with two versions, with a hard top and soft top.

On the inside, the Thar is expected to get some new interior equipment, for example, new steering wheels, touchscreen infotainment system for the high-range variants and digital MID screen for the instrument cluster. More importantly, Mahindra Thar 2020 will feature more safety features including driver airbags, rear parking sensor and alert system and seat belt reminder system as required by the upcoming safety norms. Front-facing seats are also on the card for the new Thar.

Mahindra Thar 2020 is likely to get an all-new architecture which is used on the Scorpio. The new architecture will enhance the structure of the vehicle and allow it to meet the new crash test standard. Mahindra has discontinued the Thar DI variant as a direct result of the new stringent emission norms. New diesel motor with more power output will replace the recent 2.5-litre diesel engine which is unlikely to meet the upcoming regulation. Mahindra might bring the updated 2.0-litre diesel engine from the new-gen XUV500 to the Thar.
