While various carmakers have been offering some great offers on their BS4 cars, even the fresh inventory of 2020 Maruti Baleno BS6 is available with some great offers

It's no news that many carmakers and their dealerships have been offering some lucrative discounts on the existing inventory of their BSIV-compliant vehicles. However, in order to maintain a robust sales momentum in the ongoing period of uncertainty ahead of the rollout of the BSVI emission norms, some manufacturers have even started offering some lucrative discounts on the fresh, BS6 stock. In tune with this, the 2002 Maruti Baleno BSVI model is available with discounts worth Rs 45,000.

2020 Maruti Baleno BSVI Available With Official Discount Worth Rs 45,000

Maruti Baleno received a mid-life makeover in January 2019, while it received BSVI-compliant 1.2-litre petrol enigne options in April last year.

Like we said, these discounts are being offered on the new stock of BSVI-compliant 2020 Maruti Baleno. In fact, the BSIV stock of the hot-selling B2-segment hatchback has already dried up at most places. A unit from the fresh inventory, however, can be purchased with a cash discount of Rs 25,000, an exchange bonus of Rs 15,000 and a corporate discount of Rs 5,000. The exchange offer remains unchanged regardless of the brand and the age of the old car. With as much as Rs 45,000 off the sticker price, the effective cost of the entry-level Baleno comes out to be Rs 5.18 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

The BSVI-compliant Maruti Baleno was launched way back in April 2019. Since then, it has been available with two BSVI-compliant 1.2-litre petrol engines. The company has reportedly discontinued the production of the K10C-equipped Baleno RS, which was the low-selling performance-focussed variant, while the updated Baleno is even available with an optional DUALJET-equipped engine variant that features the company's SHVS mild-hybrid technology. It's worth a mention here that the discount offer is applicable on all the petrol models, including the CVT-equipped automatic variant.

So, basically, with the discontinuation of the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol and the 1.3-litre turbo-diesel, the 2020 Maruti Baleno remains on sale with just two engine options - 1.2-litre VVT and 1.2-litre DUALJET DUAL-VVT. The former produces 82.94PS and 113Nm. Transmission options include 5-speed manual and CVT units. The latter offers 89.74PS and 113Nm, with a 5-speed manual unit being the only choice of transmission. The less powerful engine has an ARAI-rated mileage of 21.01 kmpl with manual gearbox and 19.56 kmpl with CVT, while the DUALJET version offers 23.87 kmpl.
