Here's All That the New Maruti Dzire Offers Over the Pre-facelift Model

Maruti Dzire has got its new facelift this year. The new Dzire comes with several cosmetic and mechanic updates.

Maruti Dzire is among the best-selling compact sedans in India. The current version of the Dzire has been on sale from 2017 until now. This year, Maruti has introduced the new 2020 Maruti Dzire after three years.

The new Maruti Dzire features some new exterior design updates including a new larger hexagonal grille and revised bumper for the fronts. The foglight housing is also revised with new chrome fins. Compared to the older version, the new Dzire looks sharper and more aggressive. No major updates are seen on the side profile and rear end. It continues to sport the 15-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Maruti Dzire gets a couple of new cosmetic updates. The cabin now gets a new faux wood accent in a lighter shade. In terms of the features, the 2020 Maruti Dzire comes with the 7.0-inch SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system along with a 4.2-inch colour TFT information display and cruise control. With regard to the safety front, several new features are now included on the new version, such as electronic stability control and hill hold control.

Under the hood, the facelifted Maruti Dzire will replace the old K12M 1.2-litre Dual VVT petrol engine with a new K12N 1.2-litre DualJet Dual VVT. While the new engine is good for 83 PS and 113 Nm, the new unit is capable of making 90 PS and 113 Nm. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual gearbox, which is similar to the previous version. It is worth noticing that the idle start-stop system is now standard. With the aid of this system, the fuel mileage figures for the manual and automatic version is improved, now rated at 23.26 kmpl and 24.12 kmpl, respectively. On the other hand, Maruti has cut the old BSIV D13A 1.3-litre diesel engine from the line-up.

The new pricing goes along with the new facelift. 2020 Maruti Dzire’s price now starts at Rs 5.89 lakh which is Rs 6,387 higher than the old price.
