The 1.3-litre diesel motor, which served the pre-facelift, has been phased out as it could not be upgraded to meet BSVI emission standards. This could be a potential problem for Maruti, as there are quite a few people who would prefer to buy a diesel SUV over a petrol one, owing to better fuel economy.
