2020 Maruti Vitara Brezza facelift debuted in India during the Auto Expo 2020. The launch is expected later this month.

Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the facelifted version of the Maruti Brezza at the 2020 Auto Expo. That, however, was only the unveiling. Public anticipation over the product is quite high and Maruti understands this, which is why we’ll be seeing the launch of this subcompact SUV in the Indian market very soon, probably the end of this month.

As mentioned earlier, the 2020 Maruti Brezza is just a facelift, and a minor one at that, so there are no changes to the overall look of the car. There, however, has been a major mechanical change under the hood. The Brezza had first debuted back in 2016, with a 1.3-litre diesel engine. That diesel motor in the pre-facelift model was an extremely potent unit and was a major reason for the car’s popularity.  That engine was good for 90PS and 200Nm of peak power and torque, which is good enough for a car of such compact dimensions. Sadly, that engine could not be upgraded to meet BS6 emission norms.

The new 1.5-litre petrol engine produces 105PS of max power and 138Nm of max torque, and is BS6-compliant as well. It can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic. To boost fuel-economy, there is a mild-hybrid system on-board.  There have no changes to the interior design, although the upholstery has changed. There aren’t any official declarations or announcements by the company regarding the price of the car. That said, we can safely say that the petrol version, even though it features more-expensive BS6 tech, will not be significantly more expensive than the diesel motor. In fact, the price of the base trim might be the same for the upcoming model as the outgoing model. Expect the new Brezza to carry a price tag of between Rs. 7.8 – 10.8 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
